Catch Weight Profit Loss

Hi,

We are Hay selling business, and Hay are stored in different warehoues and using a catch weight unit "Bale", and they are sold in tons.

When Hay is first Purchased, for example, we purchase 50 Bales of Hay and they are weighed 32 tons. When sell those hays several month later, 40 Bales are actually weighted 31.5 tons (due to moisture or other factory, could be over 32 ton as well).

We've setup a Catch Weight Profit/Loss account, and put the posting profile, but still the Sales Order -> Post Packing Slip still through me an error say "Account number for transaction type Catch weight loss account does not exist."

BTW, the Hay is using Batch Tracking (Not serial tracking) methods.

Could anyone help on this case?

    Hi AaronChen,

Yes that is basially causing an issue because it is not defined in account structure so system will not allow you to post any transaction in that account. Can you add that account in your structure or you can create advance rule as well in your "JTJ"account structure or I suggest to create new account structure without adding any segment (dimension) in that.

    Hi Junaid,

The account we use is 8301 for CW profit/loss.

We set up posting profile for All items. And we have it in the COA, but not in that account structure.

    COA 8301

    hi AaronChen,

Did  you setup your "catch weight profie account" by item Group or All in Posting >> Inventory section?  Can you check & make sure if that profit & loss accouct is already part of account structure "GL >> Chart of Account >> Stucture > Configure account stucture"
