Hello All Experts,

I am trying to debug using plugin profiler,

i have attach the process in visual studio debugger.

when i click on start execution below message

Profiler> Plug-in AppDomain Created
Profiler> Parsed Profiler File Successfully.
Profiler> Constructor Execution Started: 02/01/2018 19:19:40
Profiler> Constructor Execution Completed Successfully (Duration = 0ms).
Profiler> Profiler Execution Started: 02/01/2018 19:19:40
Profiler> Profiler Execution Completed Successfully (Duration = 1841ms).
Profiler> Profiler AppDomain Unloaded.

without hitting the debugger.

also visual studio saying No breakpoint can be hit as sysmbols are not loaded.

Can anyone help me in resolving this.

    Hi,

You need ".pdb" file that located in your plugin assembly when you debug.

    Hello Emre,

You are correct while debugging i checked the modules option which we can find from

    Debug->Windows->Modules

in the grid Symbol Status is showing as Symbols not loaded.

i tried using Symbol settings by right clicking in any of the Symbol Status and checked   the  Microsoft Symbol Servers and clicking on the Load all symbols , it's loading couple of symbols but for Plugin Registration Assembly it's showing cannot find or open the pdb file.

what could be the reason , how can i bring that .pdb file.

    any suggestion will be helpfull.

    Hi EmployeeOcta,

Do you have the symbols loaded?

You can either load them manually in Visual Studio - Debug - Options Symbols - Load *.pdb files or you can create a local build, which will generate the symbol files.

    Does it work afterwards?

    Hello All Experts,

I am not able to see the below file, and i think that is causing the issue.

    SDK\Tools\PluginRegistration\PluginRegistration.pdb

due to that i am not able to debug the code using plugin registration tool.

if this is the issue let me know how can i get this file.

    One more point,

i am trying to debug a merge dll, which i am attaching to the plugin profiler.

    is it wrong or right.

even i am not able to see the .pdb files for the assemblies within the debug folder for any of the assembly.

why this is so , can anyone help me in resolving this please.

    Hi EmployeeOcta,

You need your plugin's "pdb" file. It's under your .NET solution "bin" folder

To create a local build, you need to load the code in Visual Studio and build the solution

    Hello Radu,

I have done that multiple times, but still not find any solution.

    Hi EmployeeOcta

    Some steps to check:

    1. Check if you solution is in Debug-Mode (not Release-Mode. The dropdown just below the menubar)
    2. Rebuild your solution
      1. Sometimes Visual Studio has problems with tracking changes in the code and therefore just building the project not all files are rebuild, but cached.
    3. Open the folder of your solution and navigate to the bin/Debug folder and check the date and time of you dll and pdf file
      1. This step is to get sure, the correct path and folder will be used in PluginRegistrationTool
