Make assembled Quantity lower than Quantity to assemble in an Assembly Order

Hello everyone,

Is better if I explain it with an example. Every morning I have to assemble 10 tomato soup bowls that consume 1 Kg of tomato per bowl hence I have to use 10kg of tomato. So I go to the assembly order to make 10 tomato soup bowls and the system assembles 10 units. However, cooking isn't an exact process so in the end I don't get 10 tomato soups of the 10kg of tomato. I might get 6, 7 or 8 tomato soups for the same 10kg.

Business Central has the Assembled Quantity blocked so I can't enter the real Assembled Quantity.

What are my options in this case?

Thanks for the help.

    Hi

I believe you would change the original quantities instead.  That would recalculate the Assembly and make all the lines lower.  This gives the same problem I was having last week, and the answer came from another forum.

On each line, you would then adjust the quantity per field on each line to reflect the consumed quantities using calculations.

So, using your example, if you got 8 tomato soups, then in the Quantity per for the tomato line, you would enter 10 divided by 8.  You may get rounding issues, but as long as the rounding is downwards rounding, you can then overwrite the Quantity to Consume field for the actual total used.

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers

    Heather
