Check register GP10

Still having the uissue. When the PR clerk runs payroll, the check register gives her an error. So, she uses the reprint option and all is OK.

The error: "A get/change operation on table 'UPR_WORK_HDR' failed accessing SQL data"

The  more info button reveals: "Number of results columns doesn't match table definition"

Does anyone have the correct table definition? I can use SQL Administrator to fix it.

    Re: Check register GP10

It could be a corrupt Reports.dic error.   It could also be a temp table issue (server tempDB or local user temp folder).   Another option is to recreate the Work tables in between payruns (I am assuming they will be empty as any dropping of a table results in a loss of data).    This can be done via SQL Maintenance menu.  Have a back up first, validate if any data in the table, then (assuming it is clear) drop and recreate the table and autoprocedures.    If data exists in the table, you could just run the create options (both tables and auto procedures).   Let us know how it turns out.

Do you know what the work tables are?

    Re: Check register GP10

The work tables are UPR10200 > UPR10209 as well as UPR19900 and UPR19901.   If Direct Deposit, then there is also DD10100 > DD10700.   The table with your error is the UPR10202 or the Payroll Work Header.    Since that is the only table getting the error, I would narrow in on that one.   Remember to have a back up prior to doing any direct table writes!!   Also read my prior post for other ideas if that doesn't resolve.

I have no problem recreating the table. I just need to know what it SHOULD look like. Perhaps it is OK already and the report is the issue. Can you direct me to a table definition of UPR10202?

    Re: Check register GP10

The way to find what the table should look like is from within GP, go to Tools>Resource Descriptions>Tables and then double-click on the UPR10202 or the Payroll Work Header.   It will list the fields, data types, and length in that window (can also be printed).    That would be a start.

    Re: Check register GP10

OK, I printed out the table definition.

It calls for a lot of currency fields (10), where the db has them as numeric (9).

Also, the printout has 2 boolean (2)  fields (POSTED & PYSTLTEX) where the db has them as tinyint (1).

The printout shows 2 (8 item) arrays (FEDWGARR & FEDERAL_TIPS_ARRAY). The db has no arrays. It shows the 16 fields individually.

The first field in the prinout is GPS_RESERVE (Long Int 4). The db does not have that field listed.

    Are these abnormal issues?

I don't dive too deep into the data types so maybe the best route to go is to compare to the TWO database.   If your intention is to change the types via SQL, I would recommend against it.   I would let GP SQL Maint do the creating.   It will get created with the correct attributes, etc... that way.
