Changing Product Code in D365FO

Posted on by 10

I am participating in a migration from AX2012 to D365FO

Our customer want to change articles code from a numeric older one to alphanumerics, without loosing the link between transactions made with former codes.

Is there any Funcionability (Or estrategy in the customization) that can I use to achive that?

Thanks in advanced!

regards

    Hi Nestorf,

As you may know there are to levels on product management

    Prodcuts (Or master Products)

    and Released Products

Option 1 (Products) : yes you can change the product number when ever you want on the product form and here is a link that exlpains it well and the released product will stay in the old code and the mapping is done

    Option 2 (Released Products) :

You can keep your data as it is, and add external codes or barcodes to add différent identifiers to the same item.

    Kind Regards,
