In addition to the official MS documentation - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/commerce/assortments#stopped-products - I would like to add some details.

  • If we STOP released product in ‘Default order settings' (Released product/Tab Manage Inventory/section Order setting) - we need to run 'Process assortments’ so the product is no longer part of the assortment:

NOTE: If the product is released in several legal entities, it should be STOPPED in all legal entities to be NOT part of the assortment.

You can check to which Companies is the product released from Product itself:

After 'Process assortments' wait for some minutes and then check Released product form - Assortment is gone:

NOTE: you will not see any changes from the Assortment itself, there will no be displayed such product as excluded etc. Stopped product automatically becomes not part of the Assortment which any visible change on the Assortment.

  • If we disable STOPPED parameters in 'Default order settings' in ONE or ALL Companies, 'Process assortments', wait for some minutes, the product is again part of the assortment.
  • The above settings also stops from selling and purchasing the product in HQ showing the error message 'Product 81300 is on hold'.
  • At the end run 9999 job - STOPPED products will not be displayed in POS as well.
  • If we want to return STOPPED product (which was sold earlier) in POS - it is still possible in 'Return transaction' with receipt number. Return Product without a receipt is not possible as this product cannot be added to the transaction manually.
ter all run 9999 job. Such STOPPED products should not be displayed in POS.

    Good day,

Thanks for sharing. My advice would be to raise a ticket with Microsoft and suggest adding the functionality mentioned above.

    Best regards,
    Laurens van der Tang
