I am currently setting up master planning for a client. They require the lead times of the supply of items to be taken into consideration. Where and how do i set that up in master planning? Some advice would be greatly appreciated

I have the same question (0)

    Hy Antigonie,

as master planning can be a complex process, so try to keep it simple.

For basic knowlege of that you can start here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/supply-chain/master-planning/master-planning-home-page

Following I will mention some of the menu items where to setup parameters affecting how master planimg works:

    - Parameter of master palning | Master planinhg > Setup > Plans > Mater plans

    - Parameter of coverage group | Master planinhg > Setup > Coverage > Couverage groups

    - Setup of default order setting | Product information management > Products > Released products --> Tab Plan > Order settings > Default order settings

    - Setup of Item Coverage | Product information management > Products > Released products --> Tab Plan > Coverage > Item Coverage

As the setup depends on multiple parameters and mostly of customer business processes it is not as easy to declare it just within a reply to your post. Please start readings the docs I mentioned avove.

Agreed with Andreas, mater planning is a multi-level subject.

The simplest answer is: lead time for supplied items can be set up under Default order settings on Released product.
