Resolve case - logged in user doesn't have required permission on this entity

Posted on by 15

Hi,

I'm working on Unified Interface migration. After migrating to Unified Interface, only admin can run "Resolve Case".

When other group, which used to work, try to run "Resolve Case" it generate following errors.

As I said, It worked before migration.  Any ideas would be really appreciated.

Thanks.

I had to give only read permissions to following entities in order to get working. Open your target "roles" and click "Custom Entities" tab then give read permissions.

    Environment Variable Value

    Environment Variable Definition

    Device

    All entities starts with IoT

    Hello Hayden,

These errors seem to be related to new entities (e.g. IoT Connector, msdyn_iotdevice) that have been introduced with the 2020 Release Wave 1, as part of the "IoT Connector for Microsoft Dynamics 365" solution.
    More on this here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365-release-plan/2020wave1/dynamics365-customer-service/connected-customer-service-iot-customer-service
Have you enabled Early Access on that environment?

I'm surprised to see an interference between these new entities and the regular "Resolve Case" process.
Can you please open a Support Request about this?

    Hi Hayden,

What type of migration did you do.  Was it from on-premise 2016?

If so,  did you move over your same security roles.

If you did then you will have to review your security roles again.
