Entity List Item Actions Dropdown not displaying in power pages

Hello,

I have an entity list on my portal website. I have enabled the details edit and delete function from the configuration but the edit and delete are not showing up as actions on my list in the portal. I have also enabled create edit view and delete on the portal editor itself for the list. So far only the create button and view is showing up. Table permission is giving full access to the authenticated user. Is there anything I am missing so that the edit and delete actions show up?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

    Consider these additional checks:
     1. Confirm the Entity List Permissions:
    • Even though you mentioned granting full access to authenticated users, double-check the permissions for the Entity List itself. Make sure that the Edit and Delete actions are explicitly allowed for authenticated users (not just the Create/View actions).
    • If you are using role-based access control, ensure that the authenticated user role has both Edit and Delete permissions for this specific entity list.
    2. Permissions on the Entity Details:
    • Sometimes, even with list-level permissions set, individual entity-level permissions need to be reviewed. Verify that the permissions on the Entity Detail page also allow Edit and Delete actions.
    3. Portal Theme or Custom Code:
    • Sometimes, custom themes or portal custom code can override the default display settings. Check to see if there’s any custom code or themes that might be hiding the edit or delete actions.
    • Ensure there are no CSS styles or JavaScript that might be hiding the action buttons unintentionally.
    4. Check List Settings for Actions:
    • In the portal, review the list configuration settings. Make sure the settings for Action Buttons (Edit/Delete) are configured properly.
    • Ensure that any filtering or views applied to the list aren’t unintentionally limiting visibility of the buttons.
    5. Portal Editor Settings:
    • It seems you’ve enabled the Create, Edit, View, and Delete actions in the portal editor. Sometimes, enabling these settings might require a refresh of the portal or clearing the cache for the changes to take effect. Try clearing the cache or republishing the portal.
    6. Ensure Entity Is Editable or Deletable:
    • Make sure that the entities in your list are in an editable and deletable state. For example, if there are certain conditions that lock an entity (e.g., it’s marked as "archived" or it has a specific status), it might disable those actions even if permissions are correctly set.
    7. Check for Custom Security Roles or Security Settings:
    • Review if there are any security roles or security settings at a more granular level (e.g., field-level or entity-level permissions) that are restricting the edit or delete options. Even with full list access, certain specific fields or attributes might restrict actions.
    8. Confirm Entity List Mode:
    • If the entity list is in a read-only mode or has been configured in such a way that the records are non-interactive, the action buttons (like Edit/Delete) might not show. Ensure the mode of the list allows for actions to be taken.
    9. Review Workflow or Process Triggers:
    • If there are any workflows or process triggers associated with entities, check if those are somehow affecting the availability of the Edit or Delete actions. Some workflows may prevent editing or deleting once the entity is in a certain state.
    10. Portal Refresh and Caching:
    • Sometimes changes in portal configurations don't reflect immediately due to caching. Try refreshing the portal or clearing your browser cache.
    Hope this helps.

    Thanks!

@Muhammad Shahzad Shafique I inspected the dropdown menu for the entity list page(which is not showing the menu when clicking the chevron). see below:

I also inspected the working action menu from a subgird used in the power pages. it looks like below. compared to both screenshot, I cannot see any difference.

    1. Enable Buttons in Entity List Configuration
    • Go to the Entity List record in Power Apps.
    • In the Options tab:
      • Ensure “Enable View”, “Enable Edit”, “Enable Delete”, and “Enable Create” are all checked.
      • Specify a valid Edit Form (must be an associated Entity Form).
      • Specify a valid Delete Confirmation Message (optional but helps).
    2. Associate a Valid Entity Form
    • On the Entity List, under the Edit section:
      • Select a valid Entity Form that will be used to render the Edit dialog.
    • Ensure that this Entity Form is:
      • Published.
      • Has correct mode set to Edit.
      • Has fields and metadata configured properly.
    3. Table Permissions
    • Confirm that:
      • A Table Permission exists for the entity.
      • The permission includes Read, Write, Delete access.
      • It is linked to a Web Role (e.g., Authenticated Users).
    • Most importantly:
The Entity List must have “Enable Table Permissions” checked.
    4. Web Role
    • Confirm the user is in a Web Role associated with the Table Permission.
    • You can validate this by opening the browser as the same user and checking their session.
    5. Entity View
    • The View used in the Entity List must:
      • Include the Primary Key field (internally needed for edit/delete links).
      • Include enough data to populate the form.
    6. JavaScript Customizations / CSS
    • Double-check that no custom JavaScript or CSS is hiding buttons unintentionally.

If all configurations are correct and buttons still don’t appear:
    • Try removing and re-adding the Entity List to the Web Page.
    • Clear server-side and browser-side cache.
    • Use Developer Tools (F12) to inspect HTML and see if the buttons are present but hidden.
