Case getting saved but no case title

Hi guys,

I'm registering a new case using web service through SoapUI.  All the field are getting updated and saved apart from case title. It shows New Case even after save. 

I have written java script on change of a field and on save of the form to set the title. But the event doesn't trigger. What am I missing here? Please suggest a solution.

    What approach did you take knowing that UI events don't trigger in your use case?

    Hima,

    If you are inserting cases via the SoapUI your JS wil never get triggered.

    Javascript is client side code that will get triggered when in this case if you create a case via the UI.

    If you want to change the name of the case by code, you will have to write a plugin on the Create message of a Case in Pre-Operation.

    This will solve your issue.

    Hello Hima,

    My understanding is Javascript code triggers only through user interface interactions and hence the title is not getting set. Here is what I think you can do is put your logic in the service layer /plugin.
