Hi All, Please can anybody let me know the limitation of using SSIS Integration tool kit when compared to other data migration tools.

Hi Vpshya,
For my experience, I like to use SSIS + Kingswaysoft as data connector inserting to CRM.
Without Kingswaysoft, you should write your own code to insert to CRM through API because it is possible to insert directly to CRM table, but it is not recommended at all.
Some people don't like to use SSIS because they think can do more by building console app and run as task scheduler, they can code using C# or VB.NET easier. It is old-fashioned style, but somehow it works since you can do a lot of things using console app, even can connect to multiple API easily.
Other migration tool, I hear one of my customer last time used Pentaho, it has free version for community, I think. But, once again the key of SSIS for the easier way it is using connector, such as, SSIS + Kingswaysoft, or you can try Cozyroc or RSS Bus Connector.

If your data source are most of them are Database (External DB), then I would suggest you to use SSIS.
If your data source are most from web service or API, I recommend you to build your own app.
Another tool is Scribe, it is an enterprise tool and it is not cheap, but got a lot of features that can help you so much..

And CRM also has Dynamic Family connector, it is free, but it got limitation and don't think can be customized.
Hope this helps!
Thank you.
I agree with Aileen's points - the key advantage of SSIS is that it allows you to schedule tasks right inside SQL server and monitor and log in the same way as other SQL server tasks - this makes it far more familiar and maintainable for DBAs. It is also so extensible that the only disadvantage is that it usually requires technical users to build packages unlike the non-ssis alternatives.
Hope this helps,
Scott
Hello Aileen,
We are using CRM 2011, we have custom Windows services which will load data into CRM from different staging tables. We are planning to move to SSIS instead of windows service. My question here is what are all the advantages of moving data load to SSIS than windows service. In SSIS's script component data will be inserted into CRM row by row using crmproxy but same in windows service we can do it using threading, so what will be advantage to do it in SSIS?
Please help me here.
Regards,
Rahul
Hello Rahul.
When using SSIS to load data into CRM, you should use a product like Cozyroc or KingswaySoft CRM connectors within your SSIS packages. These connectors allow you to map data efficiently, and in large batches between your data source and your CRM destination (without using scripts), and make use of e.g. text lookups for lookup fields in CRM if you don't have access to the CRM guid from your source. See an example from KingswaySoft's homepage here: www.kingswaysoft.com/.../help-manual about how to setup the connection and data mapping.
By using a third party product that is frequently updated you also ensure that you are running the newest updates, when connecting to CRM, to take advantage of potentially better and improved API's, without you having to do much work.
Hey Vpshya
SSIS Dynamics CRM 365 Integration Pack Check it out.
hope it useful.
SSIS has much higher capabilities than any of the data migration tool so it is difficult to tell limitation.
However, the hardware level restriction of SSIS are:
1. It will require an VM for development - hence is not available as SaaS
2. It will require SQL server license.
3. It will require BI development skills.
4. It doesnt have an OOB component to connect to CRM - you need to rely on adpater like KingswaySoft.
