Export data from BC via API

Hello,
I'm developing a production information system in C# .NET. Currently I'm using Dapper for import data from BC. This component is running my SQL query for the data import. Is there a way to extract the data more elegantly? For example via API?

Thank you for your answer.

Yes, using the Business Central APIs is a more elegant and supported way to extract data compared to direct SQL queries.

You can use the standard OData or REST APIs provided by BC to get data like items, sales, inventory, etc. It's more secure, upgrade-safe, and works well with C# and Dapper.

Also, you can create custom API pages if standard endpoints don’t fit your needs.

Yes, accessing data from MS D365 BC via APIs is a much more elegant, future-proof, and Microsoft recommended approach compared to direct access data.

    Hello,

Yes, you can use the standard APIs provided by Business Central or be able to cutom API if needed.

    I hope I can help.

    Hello Yun San,
Thank you, I haven't looked into it completely, but it seems like it's good for the cloud version.
Can I use on On prem system?

Saurabh has posted couple of nice videos on API processing. I will suggest you to have a look along with the Microsoft link.
