Quick question: When a new user is created, email address and username are same. This is incorrect. Primary email should be same as in active directory.
For example: Name: Allen Richards
Username: arichards@abc.com and Email address is arichards@abc.com
Email address in active directory is allen.richards@abc.com. I am not sure why in CRM username and email address are same.

Although you can change, primary email address based on your exchange configuration. If you want the user mailbox to be different from username, change primary Email address
