We implemented Dampener Quantity on all Fixed Reorder Qty. items and made the Dampener Quantity the Reorder Quantity minus 1. The logic here is supposed to tell MRP "please do not tell me to reduce supply unless you are telling me to cancel the supply completely."
One of my items was over planned (i.e. we were making too much inventory vs. what demand we had) and MRP would not suggest cancelling Production Orders until I took out the Dampener Quantity.
The only thing I can think of that makes this item unique is that I have no flexibility on the Order Modifiers. All 3 fields are the same quantity.
