Dynamics crm online multi country rollout - access

Hi,

We are planning an implementation of multip country rollout using MS CRM online. Validating my understanding. Please correct me.

Few questions:

a) Only single CRM online subscription is required. The users across the world can access the CRM using the CRM online with the single URL per region.

For example,  If the user accessing the CRM from EMEA region, he/she has to use the URL : EMEA: https://<yourCRMorganizationname>.crm4.dynamics.com?whr=<yourFederationServiceIdentifier>

If the user accessing the CRM from APAC  region, he/she has to use the URL : APAC: https://< yourCRMorganizationname>.crm5.dynamics.com?whr=<yourFederationServiceIdentifier>

b)The Azure platform / Microsoft online services will take care of the dataSync from one DC to another DC (from one region to another region) automatically. No explicit action required from the partner.

c) The client AD can be in Sync with CRM online through DirSync tool  installed and configured on active directory server. No additional action is required

d) We need to implement ADFS and build the trust between the local AD and the MS CRM online services AD and to provide the SSO feature

Your crm org needs to be located in a single data center - so in your example you couldn't have the same org accessed by both crm4 and crm5. You can chooise which geo to locate your org in from your tenant but it can't be in multiple geos.

When you federate your AD with O365 you wouldn't need DirSync since your AD accounts would be synced to O365. You can then create multiple home reals so that the EMEA accounts are redirected to their local STS server and the APAC users use a different local STS server, but they will both be accessing the same CRM data centre.

    See www.youtube.com/watch

    Hope this helps,

    Scott

Thanks Scott for the response. Video helped alot to understand how the multi-geo instances works under a single tenant.
