    Hello,

    1. If your two Forms are on the same entity, this will already happen. Forms are only representations of the data, the underlying field values will always be saved and available on any form of the same entity

    2. If your two Forms are on different entities, which have a relationship (e.g. one of them has a lookup to another) you can use Entity Mappings to automatically have the data copied from one to another. (An example of this is when you create a Contact via an Account, the address will be copied)
      https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-engagement/customize/map-entity-fields

    3. If there is no real relationship between the two Forms on two different entities, then you'll need some JavaScript. Using the WebApi methods you can get information from one record and write it to the other.
      https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-engagement/developer/clientapi/reference/xrm-webapi/retrieverecord

Hope this helps you get started. If you have any other questions, please let me know! :-)

    Hi Michel,

Thanks for replying. My option is the 2nd one. So I was trying to follow the steps. However, I dont find -- Related or Create Field Mapping or Target Entity Fields.

I am using CRM online, does that have some different options.

what relationship these two entities have? Entities have to have relationship and values will only be populated if you create other entity records from the first entity navigation.

apart from above , you have to go for the last option which Michel has suggested.

    Hello,

    1. When in your Solution, or in Customize the System, go to your entity where you want to apply this.
    2. Click the relationship you need
    3. And on the left-side of the pop-up you'll find the mappings.

An example of where to find it on the Account entity:

    Hello,

As i mentioned earlier - if you have defined mappings in the relationship prorperly from one entity to other entity.

these will poppulate once you are creating other records for e.g on entity A - you navigate from the navigation and click on the other entity B and add a new record. at that moment when form opens you will the values has been mapped.

this is not going to happen in the background - you have to write javascript to update the other entity.

you can take some help from here :

    Hello all,

I have two forms ('Contact' and 'Lead') and a 'Role' look-up field created in both forms, with a 1:N relationship from Lead -> Contact.

However, the Role field won't populate from the Contact to Lead form, because I have an 'Existing Contact' field that'll pre populate all other fields (like Phone, Address, etc.), but not 'Role' field.

Any idea why the strange behavior?
