IF statements within management reporter

I am wondering if it is possible to create an IF statement that looks at the year over year change in a line item. For example, if the margin in 2014 is 2% greater than 2013 then insert a number. I am running into trouble with referencing the prior years data.

Ultimately, I am trying to create a report that shows what caused the margins to decline or increase from the previous year. Any help would be great. Thanks.

You could possibly do this with an external excel spreadsheet and link it back in to MR.  Does that seem feasible?
