Parent / Child Issues with Online Marketplace

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Manager at a liquor store here.

We are running into an issue regarding the Parent / Child inventory for Beer 6-Pack and 4-Pack cases in our online market places. The Marketplaces pull the inventory number from the child amounts, and those amounts never exceed 3 (for 6 Packs) or 5 (For 4 packs). When we have only full cases, the child amount will read as 0, so a customer online will see that item as "out of stock".

Is there any way for the child amount to equal the actual amount in stock when linked to a parent item? For example: can our system say we have 10 cases of Budweiser AND 40 6-packs? We use a lot matrix for all beer items that get split up like this as well.

We are using RMS 2.0.2015

Thank you for any assistance!

Hi Matt - what e-commerce or shopping cart integration are you using for RMS (Nitrosell, RMSify, etc)? Have you checked with them to see if there are special settings to use with Parent / Child?
