Why can't I change the deposit number. I have always done this in the past....

You may have selected a receipt on that deposit? or at least tabbed off the deposit number field. You can simply delete the deposit and start again.
I want to change the Deposit number in the Bank deposit section of the Financial Module. Can I do this, and how? I tried. I in the Deposit number space, when highlighted, I changed to the number to what I wanted the new sequence of numbers to start with. It came up with a question- "Do you want to continue or clear the deposit? Choose continue to use the entries with the new deposit. Choose Clear to discard your previous entry." I selected Continue, thinking that that would save the new number sequence. I didn't, the old number sequence came up again. I want to change it permanently for the new year. How do you do this?
Go to Checkbook Maintenance(Card-->Financial-->Checkbook). In that window you can see the checkbook deposit number field. Enter the new number and Save. Now you can see new deposit number in bank deposit window.
