Hi:
I have been reading on how the purpose of Routing Link Codes is to flush components according to operation output.
But, what does that mean and would someone please share some good specific examples?
Thanks!
John

Routing link codes are used to combine the materials defined in your BOM to the operations defined in your routing.
For example, say you're making pancake batter, where your first operation is to combine all your dry ingredients and your next operation is to add the wet ingredients. You would need to set up a routing link code for each operation (10 and 20 for the sake of the example) since both involve material consumption. Then, for each line of your BOM, you would need to populate the appropriate routing link code (10 for all ingredients in step 1, and 20 for all ingredients in step 2).
Here is a sample BOM and Routing for the example.:
Here, by defining the routing link codes, you're telling the system that in the 'Combine dry ingredients' operation, you will be consuming the flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder. Then in the 'add wet ingredients' operation, you will consume the melted butter, eggs, and milk.
Hope that helps!
