Have you installed GP on the client machine?

If you unmark the "Do not create Data source" option on while installing GP, the installation will create the ODBC.

    Hope this helps!!!

The SQL Native Client should be installed as a prerequisite from the installation media. What is in the install directory created by your VAR?

Also check the below link to download the Native client if not installed on your machine.

Tami, if you are not seeing the SQL Native Client on the machine then it begs the question, have you started the installation of the GP client?

As one of the first things that happens during that install is the installation of the SQL Native Client code.

Sounds funny, but you need to start the install of the software with out the ODBC built, and that is why now the installation includes the question about creating the ODBC connection for you.

Also, be sure to always run the installation at Administrator (right click and all that)

    Hope this helps.

Where is the installation setup files is located ? on the network ? If yes, can you try copying the file to local and give it a try.

OK, sorry I missed this when I posted my first reply to this thread.

When you said the partner created a folder - did they copy the content of the GP2010 CD to that folder location?  If so, do you have full admin rights to the folder and to the computer which you are doing the installation onto?
