Hello all,

I am about to use dynamic crm 2015 onpremise and wondering if CRM will be slow if we have a lot of data ( more than 8 GB in server).

will the lot of data slow up my CRM?

Thanks

I've worked with on-prem CRM systems where the database was a lot larger than 8 GB and they ran fine.

The database size itself won't cause CRM to slow down. Your focus should be on making sure all custom code written for the system runs as efficiently as possible and that you or your DBA work on tuning the database, such as adding indexes where needed based on query analysis.

Hi your data wont slow down your crm however you need to be carefull how many objects you expose on your form such as fields, javascripts and operations at any given time. If you have a form overpopulated that is being generated by all users who are trying to make changes this could potentially slow down due to the number of blocking and locking transactions that are occurring. So you need to reduce this by designing your forms to only show what they need to show and have dedicated forms for different departments. Also ensure your custom code and plugins does not add bottlenecks to your processes, and reduce the number of webresources running on each form by consolidating them.

    Best Wishes, Raz

We have customers with 100GB+ databases.  Keeping customizations efficient is key.  Also make sure your backend (SQL, CRM Server roles) are setup to accommodate your volume.  (E.g. are you transacting a lot of data or just storing it?)  There are various SQL tuning techniques to ensure your system runs smoothly.

Microsoft provides some good info here:
