    Hello,

In Business Central's Financial Reports, the Row Analysis View Name and Column Analysis View Name fields are used to pull data from specific Analysis Views set up in the system.

Row Analysis View Name defines which Analysis View is used to populate the rows (typically G/L accounts or dimensions). Column Analysis View Name defines which Analysis View is used for the columns (often time periods, budgets, or other dimensions).

Using different views allows flexibility. For example, you might use one view filtered by a specific dimension (e.g., department) for rows and another for columns filtered by budget or job. This enables customized reporting structures pulling from different slices of your G/L and dimension data.

If left blank, the system pulls directly from the G/L entries rather than from summarized Analysis View entries, which could impact performance and detail level.

Hope this answer will help you!

    Regards,
    Mansi Soni

In Business Central financial reporting, the Row Analysis View Name and Column Analysis View Name refer to different aspects of how data is structured in analysis views:

Row Analysis View Name determines which analysis view (based on dimensions) is used to populate the rows of your report — typically used to display accounts or departments.

Column Analysis View Name controls which analysis view is used to define the columns — often showing periods, budget vs. actuals, or other dimensional breakdowns.

They allow flexibility to mix and match perspectives, like comparing account balances (rows) by region or time period (columns).

Hi, You can think of this as an additional filter, where you can filter dimensions or accounts.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

In financial reporting within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, the Row Analysis View Name determines which analysis view is used to populate the rows of a report—typically showing data like G/L accounts or departments—

while the Column Analysis View Name defines the view used for the columns, often representing time periods, budgets, or other dimensions.

Using different views for rows and columns allows for flexible, dimension-based reporting, and if left blank, the system defaults to pulling data directly from G/L entries, which may impact performance.
