Automatically create sales orders???

Hi,

I have one of those "must to tomorrow biz needs" ...  As part of that, I need to set up a process that automatically creates some sales orders, where I pass pretty much all order information needed...

Before attempting to insert on SL7 Tables (last resort), any how to documentation/ examples on how to achieve this on SL7 ourselves?. Process has to run on its own, no screen loaded/user intervention ...

thanks!

You would want to create a TI (Transaction Import) script to do the import into the sales order screen.  Then a VB app that would use the TI scripts from the executable.  The executable would be able to be scheduled from the application server on a regular basis.  If you do not use TI or Object Model the business logic may not be followed and tables may not get populated correctly for normal processing.

An other thought.  If you have EDI capability you could also use the mappings of EDI to do the import, you would have to have the customers configured for EDI.

Thanks Dave, will try that first with Tx import..... we do have EDI, but setting up each customer as an EDI one may be trickier and more involved, but a nicer solution perhaps.
