Role-based forms not working

(0) ShareShare

So I have created a new form that I want to display to the Outside Sales security role.

I have restricted the main form from that role and given access only to that role and placed that form at the top of the form order.

I have made changes to the form-- specifically removed some items from the 'Common' navigation area. I have saved and published these changes.

When I log in as a user with this security role I do not see the updated form. In fact, I am pretty sure I am still looking at the default form. Why is the custom form not displaying to the user?

Still can't figure this out. Even the simplest task such as adding a field to a form does not show up for the user. Is this a bug?

    Joe,

Did you create this security role from scratch or did you copy the role from an existing one in CRM?

Were there any errors when you published your changes in CRM?

Does the user have more than 1 security role or do they belong to a team with a different security role?

When you're logged in with a Sys Admin account and you navigate to this entity, do you have the option of choosing which form you want to use?

Jeremy, to answer your questions below:

Did you create this security role from scratch or did you copy the role from an existing one in CRM? The role was created from scratch. The form itself was copied from the Main:Information form.

Were there any errors when you published your changes in CRM? No, no errors.

Does the user have more than 1 security role or do they belong to a team with a different security role? Ah, yes. They belong to a team which is assigned a seperate security role. This was done as a requirement of a Marketing plug-in.

When you're logged in with a Sys Admin account and you navigate to this entity, do you have the option of choosing which form you want to use? Yes.

Already I am thinking that #3 is where the trouble lies but I will wait for your response. Thank you!

Yes, that was it. I gave access to the custom form to both Roles and restricted access to the Main form from both Roles and it is working beautifully. Thanks!!
