Auto create barcode when releasing products?

Hi,

I have a bar code setup which gives me unique barcodes for product variants when I click on "Create bar codes from number sequences". But I don't want to click it, I want the system to create the bar codes by itself when the products are released. Is there a way to do that without using customizations?

At the vendor card on Retail fasttab, there is a toggle under Bar code named "Create bar code if needed" Yes/No. I have tried to toggle it to No and Yes but it doesn't affect the bar code creation for me. Did I do the setup wrong or is that toggle doing something else?

Regarding your requirements, there is no such OOB feature in the system, you need to do some customization.

Actually I have already read you blog, it was very helpful for setting up bar code mask. :)

Have you any idea what the "Create bar code if needed" toggle is doing? It's on the Vendor card, retail fasttab.
