Need report showing unposted transactions

I need to create or modify a report so that it is exactly like the Detail General Ledger but showing transactions that have not been posted to the GL.  Basically I need all entered information that has not been posted or is pending posting.

    Do you want a report exactly like the detail general ledger or do you want a report just showing transactions that have not yet been posted?

    Trying to create a detail general ledger like report that includes unposted transactions would not be trivial because it not only has to pick up the unposted transactions but it also has to calculate the effect of those transactions on the account history table to get the adjusted beginning balance and ending balance for each account/sub-account affected by these unposted transactions and, if unposted transactions go back into a prior period, such transactions affect prior period ending balances that become the periods beginning balance on the report.

    So, a lot depends on what you are actually after.  Creating a report to show unposted transactions (or using Quick Query to do that) would be rather simply.  Trying to emulate posted transactions on a variation of the detail general ledger report would be quite a challenge.

    Rick, I apologize for not being more thorough in my explanation.  For the purpose that I need this report, the beginning/ending balances are arbitrary.  What I need is something that shows any documents that have been entered in the "voucher/adjustment entry" input protocol based on a given period, regardless if it has been posted to the DGL by A/P.  The information I'm looking for would include the period posted, the GL code, the batch number, the reference number, the vendor number/name, invoice/voucher number, and the amount; so essentially it would be the DGL but would show all items that have not been posted yet as well.

    I want to keep track of expenses with running dynamic budget numbers that I get daily and this would keep me from having to enter the vouchers in Solomon and then again copy the information manually in MS Access.  I hope this makes sense...

    From your explanation, it sounds like you must be posting AP to the GL in detail otherwise, the detail general ledger would not include the level of detail you desire.

    I have not tried this but, in theory, it should work.

    The detail general ledger report runs from a view called vr_01620.  That view limits GL transactions to transactions that have a status of “P”.  You could create a similar view eliminating that one filter of the transaction status and then clone the 01620 report to use this new view.  You could then add this custom report to the report control for 01620.  The result should include the unposted GL items.  You would have double asterisks on each ending balance figure because the beginning balance plus detail activity would not equal ending balance as pulled from account history but the figure showing on the report is that calculated ending balance.  These are relatively easy things to do if you have access to the SQL Management tool, Crystal Reports Designer and some working knowledge of how to modify report controls.  If you do not have these capabilities, your Dynamics SL vendor should.
