Business Central Version 22 and Microsoft ARR

In a previous version many moons ago, we had our dual Business Central (On-Premise) Web Servers being load balanced with Microsoft ARR.

For the life of us, we have been unable to do this with BC 22, we are at the point that ARR is forwarding to the Web Servers - but we get error:

If we click Refresh - it just logs the user off.

I have the same question (0)

Thanks, I have seen that and it didn't help with above and auto-logoff.

Hi, Can you track more error detailed error messages about your issue:

In my case, it was the missing WebSocket protocol on the ARR Proxy

    Hi there

Sounds like you’ve got ARR forwarding requests to your BC 22 web servers, but the session isn’t sticking clicking refresh logs the user off. That usually points to a problem with how ARR is handling session affinity

In older versions, ARR could manage sticky sessions without much fuss, but BC 22 changed how it handles authentication and cookies. If ARR isn’t preserving those properly, the session breaks

    Here’s what you can try
    • Make sure ARR is set to use cookie-based affinity instead of IP-based
    • Check that it’s not stripping headers like Set-Cookie or Authorization
    • If you’re doing SSL offloading, confirm that X-Forwarded-Proto and X-Forwarded-For are passed correctly
    • Enable WebSocket support if it’s not already on BC 22 relies on it more than older versions
    • Review your rewrite rules and make sure they’re not interfering with session tokens

Let me know what you find. If this helped, feel free to mark it as the suggested or verified answer

    Cheers
    Jeffrey
