How do I make a field in BC to be required?

I need the field 'Code' under 'Shipment Method' in a Sales order to be required.

Is this possible?ShipmMC.png

    Ole,

I believe and Josh can confirm, your Partner will need to be involved to update the field ShowMandatory = TRUE value.

    Thanks,

    Steve

Would you mind explaining how to perform this?

    Ole,

I will add one addition to what Josh replied... You can add an Asterick to fields that appear RED. This is nothing more than a visual tool.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Thank you so much, Josh,.

I'll try the approval workflow solution.

The most direct way is with a modification. Example being on “Release” of the SO check specific fields. Present errors for those that don’t meet a criteria.

An indirect way using configuration could be to use an approval workflow. Set a filter to trigger when that field is blank and throw a message to the user. This should be a good prompt.

Another ver loose thing is to move all important fields into a specific section of the page. In some cases this needs development though.

If possible you can have that field populated on the customer card. Depends if the customer varies how they have things shipped, but that is generally altered order by order.
