Hi,

On merge event of Contact entity, the related child entity records get reparented to Master contact. Can we re-parent those related child entity records back to child contact, if yes, then how.

    Hi,

Firstly, you'll need to Re-activate the record that was Deactivated because of the first merge you did.

Yes, you can re-parent the old Contact as the main parent again. But, it won't be exactly before the merge. Everything will come over to whatever remains the final Master record after the first merge.

What you need to do is, make an Advanced Find (or if you have any view that shows both the Active and Inactive Contacts together), select the two and reselect among the new Master and Old Deactivated Contact and make the older record as Master this time.

After your first Merge, K Fabri Opportunity went to J Fabri Contact.

    Now you merge them back.

Now, it goes back to K Fabri post Merge to the Duplicate being the Master now (Be careful on setting their parents correctly before performing Merge, i.e. Parent Account)

    Hope this works.
