When creating a service item from the service module i get this message
Type must be equal to inventory in item no . Current value is service
Hi,
Can you please share the steps on how are you creating the Service item along with the error screenshot?
I go to Service module -> order processing-> items-> new item
the templates list pops up , i have a template type ready with item type: service
Okay, when you follow the above steps when do you encounter the error.

Hello,
If you want to create Service Item, from the Service Orders, then enter Service Orders and fill in the fields as necessary. Choose the Create Service Item action. A number is assigned to the service item and a service item card is created. The Service Item No. field is filled in with the number of the new service item.

Unfortunately I can’t find the service order in the service module

Question first... What kind of BC License do you subscribe too? Essentials or Premium? If Essentials, Service Module is NOT included. You need the Premium license. Here is a pic for the Service Order :
