Out of nowhere two of our users are no longer able to access the CRM. After 3-4 login attempts, the login window disappears and the website shows
HTTP Error 401.1 - Unauthorized: Access is denied
Other users with the same security roles have no issue logging in. I've done some research on this, and most answers suggest an IIS reset, which was done with no improvement. Other suggestions revolve around the ADFS, which we don't use since we use an onsite deployment. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same question (0)Solution - Apparently, by default, Active Domain passwords are only valid for 30 days. This was found by creating a temp folder shared with the bad user profile. When logging in to the active domain server, the login screen threw an error stating that password had expired. Unfortunately, the CRM login does not throw this error, or any meaningful error towards this. The solution is to find and check the box marked make user password never expire under the active domain user profile. I hope this helps someone else down the road.
