Partial Posting in Inventory Transfer During Batch Posting

Posted on by Microsoft Employee
Dear All, I am facing a strange issue while inventory batch posting process. Some of the line items are posted and some are not. But I can view these transfer in Transaction and its inquiry as well (Un Posted and Posted). And if posted, still those transactions are available for posting. Please guide and suggest in this regard. Looking for your prompt feedback. Thanking you in anticipation. Atta-Ur-Rahman MCP

    Atta:

I'm not sure if this is the case in your situation but I've seen transactions partially post but because of corrupt/missing data in the transaction, not complete the posting process.  Have a look at your Iventory Batch detail (Transaction>Inventory>Batches), open the Transaction Detail and look for any suspect transactions.  In the instance I saw most recently, a Receiving Transaction appeared to have posted but because of missing data in the transaction, didn't complete the posting process.  However, it also didn't have a Batch ID associated with it.  It was just a lone transaction sitting out there amongst Batch Transactions.

Try this first, if you don't find anything, then I would look in the SY00500 table in the Company database and the SY00800 table in the DYNAMICS database to see if there are any batches there that are hung up in posting.

Let us know what you find,
