Changing Field Label Position on Portal Entity Form

I am trying to change the Field Label Position on an entity form for my Dynamics 365 Online Portal so that the field name and it's value will show side-by-side.

ex. Section Properties when editing a form

However, the form will not change if i switch the setting to the 'Side' option. The entity form will only show the 'Top' option no matter what I choose. Is this a problem involving my CRM instance or is the 'Side' option for Field Label Position ignored in the portal?

Thanks everyone!

    Hi Daniel,

    Please try the below options:

    • Clear the cache and then try customizing your form.

    • Kindly verify whether the changes are being published properly.

    • Also, try using a different browser(preferably Internet Explorer) for customizing your form.

If this answered your question, please make sure to Mark this as an Answer.

    Thanks!

I've tried customizing the form in Internet Explorer and Firefox after clearing my portal (restarting the portal in 365 Admin Center) and browser cache. However, the form did not change to the 'Side' option.

I tried out the suggestions in the article, but I have the same results (no side-by-side fields). I made a support ticket with Microsoft and they said the Field Label Position setting does not work with Dynamics 365 Online Portals. They suggested using CSS to have to fields side-by-side. If anybody could point me to an article or resource that could help me format the fields in CSS, I would appreciate it. I'll play around with the theme.css file and report back if I can resolve the problem.

    Hi Daniel,

Have you tried to look at the Web Template associated with the Page Template or Web Page? The css/bootstrap in those web templates controls how all the components of a page is layout. Hence perhaps one way to fix your field layout issue is to look at the bootstrap used and compare with examples in e.g. getbootstrap.com, see if you can rearrange the fields that way?

    Hope that helps.
