Deleting a batch with no batch ID

Good morning,

I have a batch visible in my series posting window.  it has no batch ID, no origin, and no transactions.

When I click "Batch ID" i can see it has no date and dollar amount.

I'd like to delete it but get an error message "batches containing zero transactions cannot be marked".  When i try to select it from the Batch IDs screen another error message "please select a record first" pops up. Any ideas?batch-ID.JPG

Thank you for any help that can be provided.

    Hi Dana123,

You actually have to fix this through SQL.

You make a backup of the company and go to the SY00500 table. Find the blank batch and give it a name.

You then can open the batch in GP and delete.

    Thanks,

    Rebecka

Batches with no batch Id indicate that these were failed transaction level postings. It's easier to query the Batch Headers table (SY00500), in this case, using the USERID column, as follows:

    select * from SY00500 where userid = '<userId>'

Where <userId> represents the user who was attempting to post the transaction.
