I have a requirement where when a quote is converted into order, invoice should be automatically generated

that does not sound a valid requirement to me.
standard sales quote has option to convert to order or invoice so use one of those options based on your requirement.

If somebody could please guide me, it would be of great help.
why do you need invoice to be created when quote is converted to order?
you can directly convert to invoice
