Adding a ratio to CRM

Hi guys,

I'm really keen on adding more advanced calculations to my dashboards/reports. Currently there are just totals, which doesn't really me tell me all that much. I want CRM to work out the ratio of qualified leads to incoming leads. E.g 1 qualified lead for every 20 that come in to the system. It's easy enough to work out when exporting to a spreadsheet but it would be better and simpler for everyone involved if CRM did this automatically and displayed it in a dashboard or report.

Unfortunately I wouldn't really know where to start in achieving this so was hoping someone would be able to help or at least point me in the right direction?

Thanks,
Ciaran

    Hi Ciaran,

Unfortunately, CRM doesn't have any functionality around calculating ratios, either in CRM proper or reports. I can think of a few ways to get the sums of different values (which you could divide and get the rate), but nothing that would let you express it as a ratio.

Sorry it's not the answer you're looking for, but I'd appreciate if you'd mark this as Answering your question.

    Thanks,

     Aiden

    Ahh that's a shame.

    Thanks for clarifying Aiden!

    Hi Ciaran,

I have a free add-on called Workflow Elements (kaskela.wordpress.com) that handles a lot of features that should be available out of the box but aren't. I'd really like to add something to let you get a ratio between two values. Would something like this meet your need:

    Input:

    - Field 1

    - Field 2

    - Number of significant digits (optional)

    - Maximum number of decimals (optional)

    Output

    - Ratio Value 1 (i.e. 1)

    - Ratio Value 2 (i.e. 3.52)

    - Ratio Expression (i.e. 1:3.52)

You could get the different ratio parts to build a text value like:

    {Ratio Value 1} sale per {Ratio Value 2} opportunities.

    Thanks,

     Aiden
