Business rule setting up Field but does not get saved.

Hi Guys,

I am using CRM Online.

I have setup business rule to set fields "Renewal Reminder", "Final Reminder" and "Termination date" under Opportunity entity based to "Est.Close Date field"

However, the problem I am facing is that the fields are setting correctly but they are not saving until I open the opportunity and click on floppy icon manually to save changes.

How can I make sure that the business rule sets these fields in opportunity and saves the changes?

this is how my business rule is setup under Opportunity.

    IF

Type equals "Renewal Opportunity,Renewal Subscription" AND Status equals "Open" AND Est. Close Date contains data AND Renewal Reminder does not contain data AND Final Reminder does not contain data AND Termination Date does not contain data

    THEN

Set Renewal Reminder to Est. Close Date - "14"

Set Final Reminder to Est. Close Date + "7"

Set Termination Date to Est. Close Date + "60"

Business rules will not run until you create/update the record.

Yes, this is correct because business rules are running on client side and until you save it manually the changes will not be saved. It will only set the data in the fields when you make changes but you will have to save it.

    Hi Zeera,

Business rules only work on creation or update the record. On creation of the record, the business rule will fire and set the value but you should finally save it. The same happens on the update of the record too. The business rule doesn't work on save of the record.
