Set a default value for a decimal column type on create

Hello,

I have a custom table that has a decimal column type as below:

I would like to set a default value as 0.00 on the creation or importing data of new records in this table which will update later in this column in a workflow process.

How do I set a default value as "0.00" on the creation of new records for the decimal column type?

I would highly appreciate it if you can provide an example.

Best regards,

EBMRay

    Hi,

You can write workflow /plugin to set the default value of decimal field on Create if field value is null because you don't want to override the value provided by User.

    Hi EBMRay

What you can do is to use a what we called business rule where you can setup a default values for new records.

For detailed info please check the below link.

    Hi EBMRay,

You could create a Business rule in which to set that field's default rule. The screenshots:

And it would set the default value when you create or import data.
