Question about accounting for operations in sales transaction entry module generating journal entry in the tables GL10000 and/or GL20000.

Why when posting transactions in the Sales Transaction Entry window and in other modules (Payments, Purchase orders, etc.) sometimes generates a journal entry in the GL10000 table and sometimes in the GL20000 table, this even though I have it set up in the Post Accounting options direct on Accounting.

    Hello Saul:

    Back in the posting setup for any given transaction type

    Having Post Through GL checked will send it to GL20000 table

    On the other hand if you have only the POst to GL flag checked - transactions will be send only to GL10000 table. You will have post that entry from financials at which point it ends up in GL20000 table.

    Hi,

    Also, if someone posts a transaction from the transaction entry window, it will go to the GL10000 regardless of your posting setups. As well, anything that can't be batched will not go all the way through the GL. Things like voids, bank transactions an the like cannot be batched, so you have to post them to the GL.
