    Hello

I hope the following information can help:

Would you recommend to check permissions on SQL Server, supported versions, correct migration of objects?

    I hope I can help.

    Regards,

    Andres

"A connection to SQL server is no longer usable."
suggests that the sync operation failed due to a SQL Server connectivity issue during your BC14 to BC23 upgrade.
Here's a brief checklist to resolve it:
    1. Verify SQL Server Status:
      • Ensure the SQL Server instance hosting your BC databases is running.
      • You can check this via SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) or Services.msc.
    2. Check SQL Connection Strings:
      • Confirm that the BC230 server instance is correctly configured to connect to the SQL Server.
      • Validate the DatabaseName and DatabaseServer settings in CustomSettings.config.
    3. Network & Firewall:
      • Make sure there are no network issues or firewall rules blocking SQL Server ports (default is 1433).
      • Try pinging the SQL Server from the machine running the sync.
    4. SQL Server Authentication:
      • Ensure the service account running BC230 has access to the database.
      • Check for any login failures in SQL Server logs.
    5. Restart Services:
      • Restart both SQL Server and BC230 instances to refresh connections.
    6. Retry Sync:
      • After confirming the above, rerun the Sync-NAVApp commands.
Note: This response was created in collaboration with Microsoft Copilot to ensure clarity and completeness. I hope it helps to some extent.
