Upgrade CRM 2011 to 365 version question

I am upgrading from CRM 2011 to 365 (on-premise). I upgraded to 2013,2015,2016 successfully. To 365, there are many builds, like update 0.1, 2016 Service pack 1/1.1, version 8.1, version 8.2.0-8.2.3. My question is do I need to install each of them?

During upgrade process, I installed rollup 4 on 2013 then I had problem to upgrade to 2015. Have to roll up to SP1 of 2013. That makes me feel which updates I pick to use may affect the result. One time I installed 2016, then 8.2.0 then directly go to 8.2.3, I got  no error but the "recently viewed" icon disappeared and dashboard had problem. I think I need to figure out which version to use before I do it again.

Thanks.

Holly Li

The most recent 8.2 update should be enough, no need to install each version.

Did you flush cache on the clients, and did it happen for all users, no matter which role?

yes all machines and all users. The Recently Viewed icon (like a clock) on top right is not there.

I am sure you might have already tried these but just wanted to check

Could you please try the following and see if the button comes back

    01. Restart the server
02, Clear the cache on client machine and restart
    03. Perform an IIS reset on the server - I know it sounds strange that resetting IIS after restart, I found some caches in IIS are only cleared when I force an IIS Reset.

We did 2013,2015, 8.0.0.1088, 8.2.2 the upgrade is successful. Install any version in between or 8.2.3 will make the upgrade fail.
