Dynamics CRM Job Titles?

Hi,

I have been working with CRM for over a year and want to develop my career within the field. My current employer gave me an initial title of 'CRM software developer' and openly expressed that it was the first person they had recruited into that role so had no idea how the job would take shape.

I manage all aspects of CRM from strategy right down to coding. I am the only person in the organisation to work with CRM, and have asked my job title to change to CRM Manager. However, my employer will not do this as they reserve the title 'Manager' for people that manage people.

So, I am wondering what is the best alternative: perhaps CRM Specialist, or CRM Consultant. I am not sure exactly if there is a difference between these names in the field and do not want to choose a title that may send the wrong message when I am looking to advance to a new job.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Scott,

Apologies two threads were opened with the same question. On the other thread 'Senior CRM Consultant/Specialist' was recommended which I think has a broader focus and aptly represents what I do. My company hates to use the word consultant so I will either have to test out my skills of persuasion or go with specialist.
