Hello! I'm trying to accomplish the following task and need some assistance if someone has the knowledge to help. we have 3 companies in GP and we created a new company making it a total of 4. currently if we create a vendor in the "main" company then that vendor will automatically get created in the other 2 companies. how can I add the new company to do the same. I want the main company to link to this company so when we create a vendor in that company then all companies would have that vendor created??

    Hi Adal,

Standard GP is doesnt this have option, I think you have some development on the backend in SQL to create vendor on other 2 companies.  You need to change the development to include the new company, please contact who have done this development.

The PSTL module can do this.  Open up the Professional Services Tools Library, Choose PM Master Triggers, and then click Next.  This will allow you to add the new database.

Yes the PSTL is the way to go...

Just be careful, as this is a very powerful tool.

Depending on your GP version, some of the function are now built into GP directly, like the Vendor / Customer combiner & merger tool.

    Hi Matt,

Good to know this option is there on PSTL, just to confirm if we do this each time when new vendor created on 1st db will it create on the 2nd database.

    Hi Babu,

Yes it will...  You can enable it for both vendor and customer cards..  From one to many companies.

Question...Will this copy ALL IDs in the category chosen, or will it allow you to choose certain IDs once you click Next?

    Hi Leah,

I've never tried to use the Master Triggers with an Class-ID update on a customer/vendor card... but technically it should work as well..

What the PSTL does is setup triggers at the SQL level that copy/updates the content of some tables in each company every time you make any changes... so this should include also the actions that involve Class-ID's.. but again, never tested it.

It will also only change what's in the main maintenance window.. not the sub-windows as far as I know (i.e. Projects or GL Accounts)
