Error in posting to GL-'the exchange table ID is missing'

please i'm having issues posting to GL. i've confirmed that its the right currency ID. yet its giving an error of "the exchange table ID is missing" when i post. any idea what the problem is?

    Hi,

    I've seen this error in the past, but it was a few releases ago. It came up when there was more than on Rate Type on the Select Multicurrency Rate Types window.

    To get to that window follow this navigation:

    Financial > Setup > Rate Types > Select the Exchange Table ID that you are working with and look in the box in the lower right-hand corner of the window. If you have more than one rate type listed, remove them until you get down to one.

    Go back to the GL Entry that was giving you the error. When you open the transaction it will prompt you about creating a new rate type id. Answer 'Yes'.

    Save it and try again.

    Please let us know if this works.

    Strangely, I'm receiving this error still in GP 2018.

    This typically happens with Intercompany transactions in GL. Checklinks do not help.

    My resolution is to take a screen shot of the journal entry, delete the lines that produce errors and reenter them manually.
