Email Permissions

Hello,

We have created a custom Permission Set but when the user sends an purchase quote through for approval it does not notify the recipient to approve.

If we grant "D365 Basic or D365 Bus Full Access" to the user the emails start to work so we know its permission related but unable to tell what is missing. We have used the record function to try picking up the steps but still doesn't work.

Any ideas are appreciated.

Thanks,

I have the same question (0)

Hi, Just to add, the User email policies feature was added in BC20 and you need to add its permissions as well.

Hi, I feel that it is still a permission problem, and it is recommended to use the Record function to try again.

I have tried again and narrowed it down to needing D365 basic. We currently use the "login" permission which gives us enough permissions to get into the system and then we have built the permissions from the ground up using the record tool but it seems to not pick up everything. I have retried to recorder but it hasn't worked still.

    Hello,

Currently, I do have a support case open about this issue and provided the relevant partner a way to figure it out in a production environment. I was able to do it in a CRONUS company / demo data using the provided custom permission set they shared with me. The first thing to do is to add the job queue log entries permissions to the custom permission set so you can do trial and error a few times and see which ones are missing as the job queue log entry will tell you exactly what the error is and the next error. It did work for me in a CRONUS company, but we cannot do the same thing on behalf of the partner in a production environment simply because we lack access.

The partner knows what to do now, so they should be OK to do this themselves in the relevant production environment.

    Thank you.
