Fiscal Year End

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Our fiscal year end is 5/31/2014 - when I closed June - I did not have all final entries for 5/31/14 posted - however was told I could run year-end closing so my balances would carry forward and I could run statements for June 2014.  I have some entries I need to post for May 2014 now and I am getting the following error:  "Posting to History not allowed".  I went into Fiscal Period Set up and see that Financial is open for May 2014 however I can't post the entry.  I also tried unchecking the historical year box and it won't let me.  How do I post back to 5/31/14?

Under GL Setup - there is a checkbox - Allow posting to History.  Make sure that is checked and make sure the period in the closed year is open - if a journal entry -  financial for period 12 (or last period of the year) must be unchecked.

Go to GL Setup and check to see if Posting to History is allowed:
