HTML web resources are not visible on mobile and Tablet

Hello All,

I have created a HTML web resource for a entity.  and added some external JS scripts such as Jquey-DataTable, some bootstrap dependency and Jquery Calendar.

This works fine on desktop. but, the HTML web resource is not visible on mobile and table client.

I have added the web resource in IFRAME also. but still not visible.

I think, it is not loading that scripts.

How to display HTML web resource on mobile and tablet?

    Hi,

If you are using CRM 2015, then HTML web resource is not supported.

    please check

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../dn858562(v=crm.7).aspx

    For CRM 2016, its working.

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../dn858562(v=crm.8).aspx

On this subject I have seen a number of articles where MS state that web resources and iframes are supported in the tablet app since CRM 2016 but not the Phone Apps.

"You can configure IFrames and web resources in forms and dashboards in the Microsoft Dynamics 365 web app, which can be configured to display in Dynamics365 for tablets."

However, when they state web resourrces what are they referring to? For example Javascript is a web resource but that has been working on mobile since the Phone express application was introduced.

I understand the latest version of the app now supports Iframes and web resources which potentially makes this question redundant however, I was watching some study material on the partner portal for CRM 2016 where it categorically stated that "Web Resources were not supported on phones at this time".   However, this isnt the case as Javascript is supported? Or at least I thought it was supported since mobile express days?

Anyone taking on an older exam would sturggle to know how to answer any particular question on this subject.

You are able to use JS web resources everywhere (desktop, tablet, mobile) on CRM 2016, but you can't use HTML web resources on mobile phones.

For tablet HTML resources you must check "Enable for tablets" checkbox on Web resource properties.

Thanks Ivan, for the reply. That was what I was thinking I just wanted to clarify with someone else.

Perhaps MS need to make this clearer in the future rather than using statement like "IFrames" & "Web Resources" are not supported in CRM 2016.

For updating this old thread, "Web Resources" have a mobile availability as an option on the web resource customization page.

If you check this then you will able to enable your web resource in your form page even if it contains HTML, you can use it on your mobile&tablets.
