Portal Search in Knowledge articles not working (or not setup?)

Hello,

I am glad to find this forum :) I have been working ont this all this week and desperately need some help :o), now here is the problem :

I’ve deployed knowledge articles in Dynamics 365

I’ve published some articles in several languages, I can read them on the portal

When I try searching the articles using the search bar, no article is found.

The search looks to be working on the website itself (searching for "contact" will return the contact us page among results.

Have someone already faced this ?

Thanks for the support !

Pierre-Olivier

    Hi Pierre,

I have the same issue. I have followed same exact steps in the suggested answer, but could not see the Knowledge Articles in Search results. Have you tried anything different?

    Thanks

Not yet, I opened a ticket at Ms support on office365. Have you tried restarting the portal?

I'll send you other articles to investigate further (don't have them right now)

    Hi.

I'm experiencing the same thing after doing the steps from your link.

Please, is there anything I need to configure, a setting I have missted in the portal regarding search?

I have also made a service request about this. Waiting to hear back.

    Hi,

It seems we are several people facing the same issue : the closest information I found was this article but I was not able to apply the solution proposed(https://community.adxstudio.com/forums/adxstudio-portals/ab019c68-ef29-e311-8461-00155d47372f).

I opened a ticket both on Office365 and on http://servicepartners.supportportal.com/ but things are not moving a lot, may be you can also do the same?

Let me know if one of you have an answer please.

    Best Regards,

    Pierre-Olivier

Same issue. Has anyone figured this out?

I can seem them if I create an Entity List, but cannot search/view them as per the standard instructions.

I've also got a support request into Microsoft, so will report back if I have any success.

    Hello Suneetha,

I finally got a resolution via Microsoft support team !

There is a product defect (I mean not a bug) making search index of KB articles not building. Backend team add to give support.

The case #117022393277838 was investigated by Daniel De Castro Santos Silva from Germany team

Here is the detailed answer bring by MS.

“Portals have an issue on indexing the search articles, so as restarting the portal does not rebuild the search index.

Technically, publishing customizations in D365 (the portal search views, specifically) is supposed to rebuild the search index, but that is not working at the moment and there is a product defect already in place for that.

For now, the only means of rebuilding the search index is to open a Backend Server team Task/request and ask for the search index files to be manually delete from the Web App folder.”

So after the backend server team execute the detailed indexing scripting was ran, the index was fixed and the search works correctly.

Don't hesitate to use the case number and Daniel name to explain the support that your problem can find an answer in this one.

    Best regards,

    Pierre-Olivier

Thanks very much Pierre - Olivier.

I am using case # to help resolve this issue with Microsoft Support. But this will fix the issue only for one time now. Any update to the Knowledge Article would still be unavailable in Search results until we get the fix from Microsoft. I am hearing that the fix is planned to release in Mid-July 2017.

    Thanks

    Suneetha
