When trying to change Amount Decimal Places on a new currency to any value greater than 9, you receive the validation error "Enter one number or two numbers separated by a colon.". According to the documentation https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/business-central/dev-itpro/developer/properties/devenv-decimalplaces-property, this property should be capable of setting the value up to 18.
Hi, It refers to the field definition created during development can be up to 18.
PS: But I tested it, and it only shows 15 digits when it is set to 18. I don't know why.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.

Even though the decimal datatypes can have 18 decimal places that does not mean that the basis app supports that in all functions.
Are there really any currency exchange rates that needs more than the 9 digits ?
In case of G/L entry table its only 5 ?
